Above the Fold: Supply Chain Logistics News (June 21, 2024)

You and me, we come from different worlds
I shave off all my hair and you have lots of curls

27 years ago tomorrow, my wife and I were introduced as Mr. & Mrs. for the first time. We came running into the ballroom holding our hands up high, as our family and friends clapped and cheered and the band played “Only Wanna Be with You” by Hootie & The Blowfish — but instead of the original lyrics, the singer belted out the revised ones we had written.

Tonight, my wife and I are going to see Hootie & The Blowfish at Fenway Park. I still shave off all my hair and she still has lots of curls, but we no longer come from different worlds. Over the past 27 years  —  for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health — we have created our own unique world, with our four kids, our bicycles, our inside jokes, and melted ice cream cones.

27 years ago tomorrow,
seems like only yesterday.
And tomorrow, and tomorrow

Just imagine.

In this week’s supply chain and logistics news…

Speaking of bicycles and ice cream cones, I’m taking the rest of the day off for my anniversary. I’m going for a bike ride, then getting some ice cream with my wife before we head to the concert.

I’ll share my commentary next week. In the meantime, have a meaningful weekend!
