My niece got married last Sunday, which was also my wife and I’s 28th wedding anniversary.
I rented a tuxedo for my wedding, but for my niece’s wedding, I decided to buy one. The cost between renting and buying a tuxedo wasn’t that much and I figured (with four children of my own) that I would wear it at least one more time in the future — worst case, on Halloween.
But I definitely won’t be wearing it to Jeff Bezos’ “$50 million star-studded luxury Venice wedding” this weekend; my wife and I weren’t invited.
To me, that is an obscene amount to spend on a wedding, but for him, $50 million is just 0.022% of his net worth ($226.7 billion), so the wedding is essentially free.
Jeff and his fiance Lauren Sanchez reportedly told their guests not to bring gifts, but if I had been invited to the wedding, I would have given them one anyway: a $100 Amazon gift card purchased at CVS on my way to the ceremony. I might be poor-ish, but my parents taught me never to show up to a wedding or dinner party empty-handed. And me standing at the CVS checkout line wearing my new tuxedo: priceless.
Okay, enough about that. Here’s the supply chain and logistics news that caught my attention this week:

I’m out of time and thinking power this morning, so I’ll share my commentary next week.
Have a meaningful weekend!
