Above the Fold: Supply Chain Logistics News (September 20, 2024)

As you read this, I’ll be a few hours into my flight home from Vienna after speaking at the Transporeon Summit. I’ll share some takeaways in a future post, but overall, it was a great learning and networking event. And the location — Hofburg Palace — is the most unique and beautiful conference space I have ever been in. With the bar raised so high, how will the Transporeon team top it next year in Amsterdam? They have a year to work on it.

Before the conference, David Shaw and I cycled 100 km (62 miles) in and around Vienna in support of Breakthrough T1D and its mission of finding a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D). David and I offered to eat an apple strudel for every $100 raised and we reached 8 apple strudels (see photo nearby of me enjoying one). It’s not too late to put more on our plate. Since finding a good apple strudel in Boston will be difficult, I’ll eat a slice of Boston cream pie instead. We’re just $194 dollars short of reaching the $1,000 mark. Make me eat at least 2 slices of Boston cream pie before the end of the month by making a donation today (big or small, every dollar/euro counts) via our website.

Okay, with the few minutes I have remaining before boarding my flight, here is the supply chain and logistics news that caught my attention this week:

Well, it’s time to board. See you across the pond.

Have a meaningful weekend!
