Above the Fold: Supply Chain Logistics News (July 25, 2025)

I’m back from my mini-vacation to Lake Placid, where my wife and I went to cheer on our oldest son as he competed in the Ironman race last Sunday. He did very well, surpassing all his goals: he finished in under 12 hours (11:51 — 35th out of 136 in his age group and 366th out of 1,505 among men) and he ran a sub-4 hour marathon (3:56) after swimming 2.3 miles and cycling 111 miles.

He surpassed all my goals too: he crossed the finish line smiling and healthy, although I think it took him until Thursday to start walking normally again.

My wife and I stayed a few extra days in the area to enjoy the Adirondacks, doing some hiking and cycling of our own. When we got home last night, however, the lock securing our bikes to the car bike rack wouldn’t unlock. So, now I have two bikes and a bike rack locked together in my garage.

I’m so paranoid about getting my bike stolen I’m always locking it up and keeping it within sight whenever I go out. It’s the Brooklyn in me. It’s also what happens when you’ve had a bike stolen from you before.

Now I have to go thief and take bolt cutters to this lock to steal it from its grip. Another example of how life is stranger than fiction sometimes.

Okay, moving on, here’s the supply chain and logistics news that caught my attention this week:

I haven’t had time to properly review and analyze all of this news, so I’ll share my commentary next week. Plus, I need to find a bolt cutter to free my bike.

Have a meaningful weekend!
